Arthritic Relief

Way back in my early thirties my knees ached so badly that I could hardly climb (or descend!) a set of stairs.   I had tried acupuncture which worked for a while.  I had tried physical therapy which ultimately led to orthoscopic knee surgery .... which lasted for a while.  I had been to a specialist who confirmed that, yes, I had early onset arthritis, or something like that.  I hurt all the dang time.  Exercise helped but that required regular ice packs and cold soaks.  Mostly I relied on copious quantities of naproxen sodium.  I knew it was not good for me.  My arthritic future frightened me!

Somewhere along the way I heard that ginger root was good for reducing inflammation, the major contributor to arthritis and its pain.

So, I gave it a try out of desperation.  I tried it all kinds of ways.  Finally, I found a way that works.

Today I'm 52 and I am literally pain free.  I have aches on occasion and I can still sense pressure changes in the weather, but the daily constant nagging, deep pains are completely gone.

You can't help but wonder if it really is the ginger making all that difference.  I agree!  It's my body and I wondered about it, too.  So, when I left my marriage in late 2013, moved out and rearranged my life, I didn't give two hoots about taking the time to have my ginger.  Time?!  Like it's any time at all....an extra 30 seconds, tops.  It was November when I left; by mid February, not quite three months ginger-free, the pain come back.  Let me tell you, it was nearly crippling!  I had nothing else in my diet that would aggravate arthritis; I had dropped weight and I was exercising; I was doing everything right to help arthritis, not hurt it.  But I hurt!

I put ginger root back into my diet asap.  Would it make any difference?  I wondered.  My God, three to four days later the pain was already much reduced and in two weeks time I was back to a very welcome painless me.

Ginger stays in my diet.  Learn how in my book!  Coming out September 25, 2016
